North Yorkshire Police are continuing their appeal for information to help find missing York man Edward Machin, also known as Ed.
Edward, 39, was last seen in the village of Bempton near Bridlington after he was dropped off by a taxi outside the White Horse Inn on the afternoon of Thursday 23 January 2014.
Officers have carried out extensive enquiries in the Bempton area and in the nearby village of Speeton including land and coastal searched by the police, Scarborough and Ryedale Search and Rescue Team and HM Coastguard.
Inspector Michelle Falkingham, of York police, said: "The longer Edward remains out of contact, the more concerned we are for his safety.
"While we are concentrating our searches in the area where he was last seen, we are also exploring the possibility that Edward may have travelled somewhere else. We know he has friends in the Salisbury area and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard from Edward recently to contact us.
"We are also appealing to any public transport providers and passengers to contact us if they believe they have seen Edward either on a bus, train, taxi or anyone who may have given him a lift. I'm also appealing direct to Ed if he sees or hears this appeal to please contact his family, friends, the police or the Missing People charity and let us know you are safe."
Edward's brother Ben Machin added: "Ed is a genuine, kind and gentle person and is very considerate of other people. He would never do anything to put anyone out or let them down, it is completely alien to him, which is why his lack of contact and missing social events is so out of character.
"He is very conscientious and after an hour of him not turning up for work we knew immediately that something was wrong.
"Ed, I cannot stress how worried we are, please get in touch with us, the police or Missing People. No matter what is wrong, we will find a way to work through it and support you, we just want you back.
"I have been completely inundated with messages and calls asking about you. Everyone wants you back home and back in their lives so please, please call us."
Edward is described as white, 5ft 4in tall, of slim build with dark brown hair and blue-grey eyes. When he was last seen he was wearing a dark coloured jacket, a light coloured shirt, jeans and brown shoes.
The Missing People charity are also supporting the appeal to find Edward and will broadcast his image on digital media boards across the UK.
