Street level crime mapping

North Yorkshire Police publishes street-level crime, anti-social behaviour (ASB) and local policing information via www.police.uk.

The site allows people across the county to see what crime and ASB has happened on their doorstep in recent weeks by simply doing a postcode search.

This transparent new level of crime and local policing information helps people from North Yorkshire and the City of York to find out what's happening in their area and enables them to hold their local police and partners to account for the action being taken and how the issues are being tackled.

Chief Constable Grahame Maxwell said: "Street-level crime and ASB information will mean communities across the county now have timely access to information about crime at the touch of a button.

"We hope it will mean more people get involved in working with or supporting our local policing teams to tackle crime and ASB in their area."

The website is part of a national programme, which will be broadened over future months, to provide other policing and criminal justice information so local people get a better understanding of what's happening in their area.

The national programme is funded by the Home Office and delivered by the National Policing Improvement Agency, in collaboration with forces across England and Wales.

Please note, due to the recent Safer Neighbourhood Team restructure, some of the population figures for our teams may not appear correctly. This is a temporary issue, and will be rectified when the following month's data goes live.
