North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information after a mother and daughter were knocked down by a car at Catterick Garrison.
The incident occurred at the pelican crossing near Darlington College, Catterick Road, at about 6pm on Saturday 16 February 2013.
The 40-year-old woman and six-year-old girl, who live locally, were crossing the road with a group of other people when they were in collision with a blue VW Polo.
The woman and her daughter suffered serious head and facial injuries respectively. They were taken by ambulance to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough following initial treatment at the scene by paramedics.
The woman's condition is described as "poorly but stable" and the girl is stable following treatment.
A local woman aged in her 60s was driving the car. She was arrested in connection with the incident and later released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The collision scene was closed for more than four hours while officers investigated the circumstances of the incident.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward or anyone who recalls seeing a blue VW Polo in the area prior to the collision on Saturday evening.
