Inspector Ian Thompson

First of all my thanks to Sergeant Neil Northend who has covered for me as Acting Inspector whilst I was away on leave recently.  It was good to see Neil take the opportunity to update this page and to use the website.

There are some staff changes in the Richmondshire District to tell you about.  PCSO Alison Atkinson of the Catterick Safer Neighbourhood Team has left us.  We wish Alison well with her future plans.  Sergeant Kev Graham who leads that team will ensure the communities where Alison worked are covered by other members of the SNT.

PC Mick Cleghorn and PC Nicola Pattinson are joining the Richmondshire Safer Neighbourhood Patrol (SNP) team.  Both officers are coming to us from Ripon and are looking forward to working in Richmondshire.

There has been much publicity recently about the Government's plans for changes to the way we work.  The Policing Pledge is no more but I can assure you the values it set out are something we have always worked to in Richmondshire and will continue to do so.  North Yorkshire Police is consulting widely with members of our communities to ascertain what Customer Service Standards are appropriate.  If you have any comments to make, please attend one of the consultation events being arranged and hosted by North Yorkshire Police Authority, or contact them.  Full details are on their web site at http://www.nypa.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=4725

As always we value your support and your comments.

Together making Richmondshire even Safer
