Consultation

We are committed to consulting with our communities, and in partnership wherever possible. Consultation ensures that we are equipped to make informed decisions and deliver quality services across North Yorkshire and the City of York.

Our Public Attitude Survey is undertaken throughout the year. It provides us with valuable feedback from the public as to how safe they feel their communities are and their policing priorities.

We also conduct a User Satisfaction Survey and report the findings to the Police Authority through its Performance and Scrutiny Board on a quarterly basis.

Nationally the Home Office carry out the British Crime Survey and these results are published annually.

More recently, local authorities have been tasked with conducting a Place Survey every two year.

In addition to the above, every Safer Neighbourhoods Team conducts their own consultation with members of their communities and more information can be found through their pages.
