Scarborough police are appealing for information after a group of girls were assaulted by another near to the play park on Burniston Road.
At around 8pm on Saturday 2 July, three girls aged 12, 14 and 15 were assaulted by another girl. One of the girls was hit in the face which caused her nose to bleed and another was kicked in the head and stomach.
The girls reported the incident to a passing police officer who was on patrol in the area.
The suspect is described as white, aged in her teens and was wearing a pink top and denim shorts.
PC Paul Rogers who is investigating the incident, said: "The girls were extremely frightened and shaken up by the incident. We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time, in the play park or on Burniston Road and saw a group of girls at around 7.45 to 8pm to come forward. Even if you did not see the actual assault, but may have seen the girls prior to the incident, your information could still be important."
