Detectives are appealing for information following five burglaries in Kellington near Selby.
Three homes on Manor Garth and two on Marsh Lane in the village, were broken into overnight between Sunday 3 July and Monday 4 July 2011.
The burglars stole a white Ford Focus from one of the addresses on Manor Garth after they broke in and stole the vehicle's keys, as well as a handbag and purse. The thieves also stole handbags and purses from three of the houses. A Jeffries horse saddle was taken from a garage at one of the houses on Marsh Lane.
Detective Constable Carol Kirk, of Selby CID, said: "I know that at least one of the victims had left their property insecure when they went to bed. I urge people to remember to make sure that they secure their homes to deter opportunist thieves. If they cannot gain access quickly and easily, thieves will often move onto the next address rather than running the risk of being caught.
"I need to speak to anyone who either witnessed the burglaries or has any information that could help to identify the burglars and ask that they contact the police immediately."
