Police bag more drugs suspects

More arrests have been made as Selby police continue to clean up drugs in the district.

Officers conducted a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a property on Hempbridge Close, just before midday on Thursday 14 June 2011, where they arrested four people on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply.

During a search of the house police located around 80 wraps of cannabis in a safe.

The drugs were seized and officers arrested two men aged 21 and 33 and two women aged 18 and 41.

The suspects have all been released on police bail as enquiries continue.

Inspector Richard Abbott, of Selby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "Drugs will not be tolerated in Selby District. Over the past year we have had some considerable success in tackling the issue and we will continue our proactive approach until people get the message."

Officers have been running Operation Orate to tackle drug related crime in Selby District since June 2010.

During the initiative over £1million worth of drugs and cultivation equipment has been seized.
