Police investigate Thirsk metal theft

Thirsk police are appealing for information following a burglary and theft of metal in Sowerby, near Thirsk.


The incidents occurred between Wednesday 6 June and Wednesday 13 June 2012, from a property on Front Street.

The burglars broke into a static caravan before stealing an 8in LCD television and the front panel of a heater. It is believed they also took two designer Myson Décor radiators approximately 6ft in length, four steel radiators and a cast iron bath, which were being stored outside. The total value of the stolen items is around £800.

PC Amy Littledyke, of Thirsk Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:
"I would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed people acting suspiciously in the area during the week before the items were reported as stolen and ask them to contact the police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.

"I am particularly keen to speak to any scrap metal dealers who may have been offered these items for sale."
