Police are investigating after the ticket office was broken into at Pickering Train Station.
Sometime between 10.30pm on Sunday 12 August and 6.30am on Monday 13 August 2012 offenders forced the window of the station's booking office, which is accessed from the platform, and made a search of the premises before leaving empty handed.
Officers, who have been making house to house enquiries in the area, are appealing to any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
PC Katie Shaw, of Malton police, said: "Although nothing was taken, there was damage to the booking office window which will have to be repaired.
"I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and saw anything suspicious to contact the police or Crimestoppers with information."
Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 - select option 2 - and ask for Katie Shaw or Malton police.
Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
