North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a fatal road traffic collision in Bedale.
It occurred at 6.15pm on Sunday 2 September 2012, at the junction of Sussex Street and Firby Road. The collision involved a Ford Ka heading from Bedale towards Masham, and a mobility scooter being driven by an 81-year-old local man, travelling along Firby Road towards Masham Road. Sadly, the rider of the mobility scooter was pronounced dead at the scene.
The local man driving the Ka was not injured as a result of the incident.
The road was closed for approximately four hours following the collision.
Traffic Sergeant Clare Sawyer, of North Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Group, said: "If you witnessed the collision or saw either of the vehicles prior to the incident please contact the police straight away."
