Selby police are appealing for information following the destruction of a large number of straw bales in the area.
They were destroyed by fire at around 12:30am on Saturday 29 September 2012, at a property on Birkin Road, West Haddlesey.
As a result of the blaze around 30 tonnes of straw was lost in the fire which is believed to have been started deliberately.
PC Stuart Henderson, of Selby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "This was an act of reckless stupidity. Thankfully the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were able to extinguish the fire before it spread to other stacks in the field.
"If you know who started this fire please contact the police or Crimestoppers straight away."
