Police are investigating after vandals damaged an antique urn in Scarborough.

The urn, which is 100 years old and forms the centre piece of the Medical Garden in Valley Gardens, on Valley Road, was attacked by vandals sometime between Friday 28 September and Monday 1 October 2012.

The large concrete urn which has flowers planted in it, is valued at around £1000.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the damage or knows who is responsible, to contact them with information.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquires is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 - select option 2 - and ask for PC Georgina Hanson or Scarborough police.
