On 10 October 2012, North Yorkshire Police received a report of a historic sexual offence linked to the Jimmy Savile enquiry.
The offence involving a young girl is alleged to have taken place in Scarborough in the late-1980s.
This is the first report received by the force in connection with the enquiry and it has been referred to the Metropolitan Police Service who are co-ordinating the investigation.

The offence involving a teenage girl is alleged to have occurred in Scarborough in the late-1960s.
This the second report the force has received in connection with the enquiry and it has been referred to the Metropolitan Police Service.
