Man admits Filey burglaries

A man has appeared in court in connection with 14 burglaries in Filey.

Glyn John Paul Brookes, 38, of no fixed address, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court today (Monday 22 October 2012) charged with a burglary in Filey and asked for 13 other burglaries in the town to be taken into consideration. In addition, he was charged with two burglaries in the Nottinghamshire area.

He pleaded guilty to all the burglary charges which have been sent to Crown Court for sentencing.

The Filey offences were committed towards the end of September and the beginning of October where the majority of the properties targeted where unoccupied at the time. Brookes was arrested in Nottinghamshire last week.
