Harrogate police are appealing for information following a burglary and the theft of a high value bike in the town.
It occurred between 11.45am and 5.15pm on Monday 15 October 2012, from a securely locked garage of a house on Westminster Drive. The thieves stole an orange Shimano mountain bike valued at around £4,500, which has a saddle autographed by Sir Chris Hoy.
PC David Minto, of Harrogate Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "If you are offered this highly distinctive bike or can help to identify the person who stole it, I urge you to contact the police or Crimestoppers straight away.
PC Minto added: "I am also asking residents to take a look at their home's security and, in particular, of high value items stored in outbuildings. As well as making the building as secure as possible I would suggest that homeowners fasten the item to the ground using a heavy duty chain and lock.
