Police Inspector Tony Quinn has overall responsibility for Safer Neighbourhood Policing within Scarborough. This team consist of one Sergeant, nine beat managers & eleven police community support officers. Inspector Quinn also assumes direction and control of a further nine Sergeants and their staff that fall under the umbrella of Response and Reassurance Policing.
These numbers are set to increase as the force has advertised for a further twenty new posts, at Police Constable and Detective Constable rank to transfer to the East Coast. This will allow for experienced and trained officers to fill anticipated vacancies which will arise as officers retire or transfer to specialist posts. Inspector Quinn and his team adopt a multi-agency approach to tackling crime and anti-social behaviour which have fallen year-on-year.
