Business Interest Register

The Business Interest Register provides information in relation to business interests and secondary occupations held by members of North Yorkshire Police.

The law regulates the circumstances in which a police officer or a relative in his or her family may have a business interest whilst that officer remains a member of North Yorkshire Police. The regulations do not apply to police staff, but as a matter of policy the expectation is that senior police staff shall abide by broadly the same rules as apply to police officers.

Gifts, Gratuities and Hospitality Register

The Gifts, Gratuities and Hospitality procedure applies to all levels of North Yorkshire Police including full-time and part-time police officers, members of the Special Constabulary, police staff, agency staff and volunteers acting on behalf of North Yorkshire Police.

All offers of gifts, gratuities or hospitality that meet the criteria for recording in accordance with the procedure must be recorded in the Register of Gifts, Gratuities and Hospitality until authorisation is given for their disposal and regardless of whether it is taken into police possession, withdrawn by the donor or subsequently declined.

Substance Misuse Testing

North Yorkshire Police undertake substance misuse testing on all new recruits along with random and with cause testing on all members of North Yorkshire Police.  The number of tests undertaken, along with the number of positive results is detailed on the spreadsheet.
