Request:

I am writing to request information under Freedom of Information, relating to the use, by your Force, of Stalking Protection Orders.

In particular, I would be grateful if you could please provide the following information relating to the time period, 20 January 2020 to 31 March 2023:

Q1. How many Stalking Protection Orders has your Force applied for?

Q2. How many of those applications have been successful?

Q3. What was the conduct that triggered the application for the Stalking Protection Order?

Q4. What conditions were imposed by the Stalking Protection Orders, negative and positive?

Q5. How many breaches of Stalking Protection Orders have taken please?

Q6. Which conditions were imposed leading to breach?

Q7. How many Stalking Protection Orders was your Force asked to apply for, by victims or by victims representatives?

Extent and Result of Searches to Locate Information

To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted within North Yorkshire Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by North Yorkshire Police.

Decision

I have today decided to disclose the located information to you.

Q1. 3 within force and 3 out of force on our behalf.

Q2. 3 successful, 1 rejected and 2 awaiting to be heard.

Q3. This can be for a variety of reasons such as, cybercrime (creating fake profiles and messaging),  following and attending places known to the victim, sending gifts and making contact through withheld calls.

Q4. These will differ depending on the offending and will consist of approx. 20 plus conditions or positive requirements.

Q5. None

Q6. N/A

Q7. None at this time, however on occasion we are asked to consider them but the ones referred by other agencies have not met all the requirements for the particular order.
