Which canine breeds are used for different tasks within the police forces in the UK.

Specifically what breeds and how many of each breed do you use/have for:

Extent and Result of Searches to Locate Information

To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted within North Yorkshire Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by North Yorkshire Police.

I have today decided to disclose the located information to you.

Q1. We do not have specific dogs for this task, our General Patrol Dogs complete search tasks when required

Q2.  Cocker Spaniel x6, Springer Spaniel x2, Labrador x2, Labrador cross Spaniel x1.

Q3. We do not have any specific apprehension dogs. All of our General Patrol Dogs conduct this work.

Q4. Dutch Herder x1, Belgium Malinois x1, Malinois cross German Shepherd x2, German Shepherd x8

Q5. This is our full department
