Q1. I would like to know the number of Fixed Penalty Notices issued and prosecutions relating to misrepresented number plates in the years 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 within the jurisdiction of North Yorkshire Police.

Q1. Please see the table below showing the total number of fixed penalty notices issued for number plate related offences for the period between 2020 to 2023, broken down by calendar year.

Please note number plate related offences include:  not conforming to regulations, not displaying a registration plate (front or back), registration plate obscured/ indistinguishable or rear registration plate not lit during darkness.

Furthermore, in relation to prosecutions I wish to advise you that there is no information held by North Yorkshire Police. Prosecutions are administered by the Courts and not North Yorkshire Police. You may wish to liaise with HMCTS for further information.
