Can you please give the data for both 2021 and 2022 (to date) separately, and detail what the 2022 cut-off point is.

Q1. How many reports of spiking offences were made to the force in 2021 and 2022 to date?

Q3. How many reports of spiking offences using a needle or injection were made to police in 2021 and 2022 to date? How many of these have been confirmed offences?

Q1. Please see the table below which shows the number of spiking offences reported to North Yorkshire Police from 1 January 2021 to 15 November 2022, broken down by year and offence type.

Q2. The number of people charged with a spiking offence from 1 January 2021 to 15 November 2022, broken down by year is zero. Of the reported crimes 90 are still under investigation.

Q3. Please see the table below which shows the number of injection / needle spiking offences reported to North Yorkshire Police from 1 January 2021 to 15 November 2022, broken down by year. None of these are considered ‘confirmed’ as this is not an official outcome. There have been zero charges brought for the cases which have been finalised. 16 of these are still under investigation.

*Due to the way these types of crimes are recorded, a manual read was required to determine the results for Q3.
