North Yorkshire Police Economic Crime Unit have provided the below information.
Q1. We have 6 police officers dedicated to investigating fraud, we have two police staff fraud assessors who deal with the disseminations of fraud reports from Action Fraud – they are supported by a team of Financial Investigators but none of these are dedicated to purely fraud investigations.
Q2. All 6 officers are Specialist Fraud Investigators and have recieved dedicated fraud training.
Q3. We are unable to provide a response to this part of your request as this would trigger an excess cost exemption.
However we can provide judicial outcomes - Between 01/01/2023 and 31/12/2023 there were 69 positive outcomes to fraud investigations.
