I am writing under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I request the following information:
Q1. The number of complaints of sexual misconduct made against serving officers from 3rd March 2021 to 31st December 2023, broken down by calendar year.
Q2. Please also provide the gender of the officer the complaint was made against.
Q3. For each of the complaints can you please provide if they were either upheld, not upheld, withdrawn or abandoned or if the investigation is still ongoing - also broken down by calendar year.

Extent and Result of Searches to Locate Information
To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted within North Yorkshire Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by North Yorkshire Police.

I have today decided to disclose the located information to you.
A search of the North Yorkshire Police complaints and misconduct cases for matters classified as J1, J2 or J3 as per the Guidance-on-capturing-data-police-complaints-Feb-2024.pdf (policeconduct.gov.uk)
J1 - Sexual assault
- Rape, attempted rape, and any assault surrounding or involving circumstances of indecency.
J2 - Sexual harassment
- Unwanted behaviour of a sexual nature; including sexual comments, propositions, leering and sexual posts on social media.
J3 - Other sexual conduct
- Sexual behaviour that does not amount to sexual assault or sexual harassment. This includes soliciting of prostitutes and child sexual abuse material.
Q1. Please see the table below which details the number of complaint / conduct matters recorded against North Yorkshire Police Officers for sexual misconduct as defined by the IOPC guide for recording conduct and complaint matters from 03 March 2021 to 31 December 2023, broken down by year.
