Q2. Vehicles belong to North Yorkshire Police Traffic Bureau. Traffic Bureau Police Staff (Safety Camera Officers) are the ones deployed in the vehicles on a daily basis.
Q3. This is down to collision statistics for that area, events that are happening across the county, the weather and the known road traffic flow of certain roads to name a few criteria.
Q4. The fines from offences are all sent to and dealt with by Central Government.
Q5. Police Services receive a % cut of each speed awareness course sat. This money is then reinvested directly into road safety initiatives within the Police Service.
Q6. Traffic Bureau funding comes from this % cut of each speed awareness course alongside other initiatives that the specific police force maybe involved in. This is different when there is a Safety Camera Partnership and funding will come in via different means.
