Yes, Regional Scientific Support Services (RSSS) attends crime scenes and laser scans the environment to create a 3D plan

RSSS on behalf of the four forces of Yorkshire and the Humber undertakes approximately 90 3D recreational software cases on average per year

Both methods can be used for the following crime types, however this is not an exhaustive list: Murder/Manslaughter, Vehicle RTC Fatal/Potential, Sudden Death, Possession of Firearms, Fire/Arson, Dangerous Driving, Industrial Accident, Assault, Rape, Wounding/GBH, Production of Drugs, Suicide, Child Neglect, Aggravated Burglary, Terrorism, Sudden Death

No, each request is assessed on a case by case basis
