Request

Q1. The total number of motorbike thefts over the last two years split per police force area that you cover. If possible, please can the total number of thefts, for each year, be split per month, so we can determine the most popular time per year for theft, e.g., spring/winter, etc.

Q2. The most common stolen parts from the motorbikes, if this is possible

Extent and Result of Searches to Locate Information

To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted within North Yorkshire Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by North Yorkshire Police.

Decision

I have today decided to disclose the located information to you.

Q1. Please see the table below for the number of motorbike thefts per district within the North Yorkshire Police force area from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2022.

Q2. The total number of stolen parts from motobikes from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2022 is six. Of the six recorded stolen parts, four were registration plates and two were built in Sat Nav systems.

Q3. Of the 293 motorbikes stolen from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2022, 110 were Honda, 58 were Yamaha and 22 were Suzuki. The remaining fall under 48 other makes.
