1. How many police officers do you have and how are they divided by gender?
2. How many police officers are standard response trained drivers and how are they divided by gender?

4. What is the success rate on the advanced driving course, divided by gender?

If possible, I would appreciate data for the questions above on a year on year basis dating back as far as is practicable for you to obtain, ideally at least five years.

Extent and Result of Searches to Locate Information
To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted within North Yorkshire Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by North Yorkshire Police.

Due to the nature of the information requested, the below information is provided is as of 25 October 2022.
Q1. North Yorkshire Police have 1661 Officers. 1042 are male and 619 are female. This does not include those officers who are currently taking a career break.

I have therefore decided to exempt providing you with a response to Q1 beyond the current numbers pursuant to Section 21 Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act).
Section 17 of the Act requires North Yorkshire Police, when refusing to provide such information (because the information is exempt) to provide you the applicant with a notice which: (a) states that fact, (b) specifies the exemption in question and (c) states (if that would not otherwise be apparent) why the exemption applies.
Section 21 – Information Reasonably Accessible by Other Means
Section 21 is an absolute class based exemption and I am not required to consider the harm or public interest when applying this exemption.
Pursuant to Section 17(1) of the Act this letter acts as a Refusal Notice in response to your request.
Q2. North Yorkshire Police have 984 Officers who are standard response driver trained. 651 are male and 333 are female.
Q3. North Yorkshire Police have 201 Officers who are advanced response driver trained. 175 are male and 26 are female.
