FOI Section 60 Orders (0244-2022/23)

Please can you provide the following information for every month between April 2017 and March 2022 – broken down on a monthly basis:

• The number of Section 60 orders that were put in place
Of these – How many were extended to the maximum time of 39 hours?
- How many were in place for longer than 39 hours?

• The number of people who were stopped and searched under Section 60 orders
Of these – How many resulted in an arrest?
- How many stop and searches fell into the following ethnicities: White, Black (or Black British), Asian (or Asian British), Other Ethnic Group, Mixed, Not stated / Unknown

Please provide the requested information in Excel or CSV format.

Extent and Result of Searches to Locate Information

To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted within North Yorkshire Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is not held by North Yorkshire Police.

This is because there have been no Section 60 orders put in place and no persons stopped under Section 60 between the time frames requested.

Please note that systems used for recording information are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the data.  It should be noted therefore that this force’s response to your questions should not be used for comparison purposes with any other responses you may receive.
