I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by North Yorkshire Police.
Decision
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you.
Table 1: The number of children strip searched post arrest
Due to the recording methods for strip searches in custody, the figures below only relate to the number of people strip searched and not the number of strip searches conducted, as a manual assessment of each individual custody record would be required to determine if an individual has been searched more than once. For example, one individual may have been searched multiple times during one detention period, or alternatively arrested more than once and strip searched following each arrest, which would exceed the time limit allowed under the Act.

Table 2: The number of children strip searched as a result of Stop and Search
The table below shows the total number of strip searches conducted as a result of Stop and Search. The information recorded under Stop and Search is held differently, therefore the data below shows the total number of strip searches conducted. For example, one individual may have been searched on more than one occasion and in these circumstances, the figures will reflect the number of times they have been searched. This is due to each search being individually recorded through the completion of a ‘Stop and Search’ form.
