1. How many reports of domestic violence you have had since 4 January 2022.
2. How many of those reports related to an incident that took place between six months and two years before they were reported.
3. Of the incidents that took place between six months and two years before they were reported, how many led to an investigation.

Q1. How many reports of domestic violence you have had since 4 January 2022? 

To locate this information, searches have been conducted within North Yorkshire Police systems for records of crimes of “violence against the person” which have a “domestic” marker. This search shows a total of 2794 such incidents between 4^th January 2022 and 31^st May 2022.

Q2. How many of those reports related to an incident that took place between six months and two years before they were reported.

To locate this data and provide a figure, the data in Q1) has been further broken down to include only reports that relate to incidents which actually occurred between 183 and 730 days prior to the report being made to North Yorkshire Police. I have used this calculation based on the number of days per year to arrive at a figure as it is the most direct way to arrive at a figure without incurring excess cost considerations which would arise out of examining each record for specific calendar dates. The total number of such reports which relate to an incident taking place between six months and two years before they were reported to North Yorkshire Police is 163.

Q3. Of the incidents that took place between six months and two years before they were reported, how many led to an investigation.

All reports of crime made to North Yorkshire Police are investigated.
