1)How many cars/vans/lorries have been fined for speeding over the last 12 months in North Yorkshire

and

2)How many motorcycles have been fined for speeding in the same period

 

North Yorkshire Police recorded 87292 speeding offences for all vehicle types in the 12 month period to 1^st July 2022.  When the criteria “motorcycle” is applied to the same search this returns seperate 552 instances. It should be noted that there may be some variance in this last figure as recording of “motorcycle” is not mandatory.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3)How many motorcycles riders have been fined for illegal exhausts

To supply this information we have searched our systems for offences relating to noise (as there is not a specific offence of “illegal exhaust”. The offences returned are

• Use a motor vehicle on a road in a manner as to cause excessive noise
• Use a motor cycle on a road fitted with an exhaust system / silencer which did not comply with the regulation
• Use a motor vehicle on a road with silencer / exhaust system altered to increased the noise made
• Use a motor vehicle on a road which was not fitted with an exhaust system including a silencer
• Use a vehicle on a road with an exhaust system / silencer not maintained in a good and efficient working order
• Use a motor vehicle on a road with a defective exhaust system / silencer

 

And there were a total of 20 relevant occurrences across these offences.
