Q3a. Due to the way in which the training is provided we are not able to provide the exact number of officers who have received the training, however I have provided the below information to assist in your request.
10/06/2022 – A force-wide briefing on The Source (Non-Fatal Strangulation: New offence effective immediately) detailing the introduction of the NFS offence effective from 07/06/2022
02/05/2023 – A further force-wide briefing on The Source (Non-Fatal Strangulation (NFS) and Suffocation Offence – Domestic Abuse Act 2021) reminding staff of the offence and providing some tips
June 2023 – Input on NFS to student officers on the Safeguarding Week (60 students in total)
07/06/2022 – 23/04/2024 – NYP Domestic Abuse Co-ordinator delivered training around NFS to 165 student officers, across 8 cohorts during their initial police training as part of either the PCDA or DHEP entry programmes.
Q3b. Please see the attached document which shows the training materials used by North Yorkshire Police. I can confirm that there is no further information held by North Yorkshire Police.
