Update: man identified following York death

Darren Catanach was 31 and from York. His family said today his death was a tragic accident, and asked for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Catanach’s death.

Police received a call just after 8.30am this morning (Tuesday 24 September 2019) from ambulance services, after the body of a man was found at the rear of The Press Kitchen on Walmgate, York. Enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances around the man’s death.
