Appeal after serious assault near Rowntree Park, York

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about a serious assault that occurred in York.

A group of males and females approached a man in his 20s who was walking towards the city centre.

Four males from the group assaulted the victim, knocking him to the floor punching and kicking him numerous times causing him to pass out before they ran off.

One was described as being around 18 years old, stocky build, wearing a blue hooded top with the hood up.

It happened on the riverside walk near to the Rowntree Park area between 8pm and 8.30pm on Tuesday 22nd November 2016.

Officers are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, police are appealing for information about the individuals involved and part of the group.
