CCTV appeal following purse theft in Northallerton shop

Police have now identified the man shown in this CCTV appeal. Thanks to members of the public for their assistance with the appeal. The CCTV image has now been removed for legal reasons.

Police investigating the theft of a purse in a  Northallerton shop have released CCTV footage of a man to whom they would like to speak.

At 10.24am on Wednesday 21 March 2018 a man and a woman entered the Wilko store on Northallerton High Street.

Whilst the victim was looking at cards, the woman distracted her whilst the man removed the victim’s purse from her shopping bag. The man and woman then left the store with the purse.

Officers have secured CCTV footage of a man who may have important information that could assist the investigation.
