At around 10pm on Saturday (16 October) North Yorkshire Police received a report that a 32-year-old man had been assaulted at the back of the White Horse Café in Thirsk Market Place.
Enquires suggest that it followed an incident in The Royal pub that had spilled onto the street.

Following enquiries a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. He has been released on bail.
Officers understand that a number of people were in the area and witnessed the assault, or incidents surrounding it, and have asked for those people to come forward with any information if they have if they haven’t already spoken to police.
