Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal collision in the Bedale area.
The incident happened on the A6055 at Little Holtby - near the entrance to Holtby Hall - at around 3.36pm on Friday (1 April 2022).
It involved a grey Fiat 500 car that was heading south and a green tractor and trailer that was heading north.
The 18-year-old woman driving the Fiat sadly died at the scene despite the best efforts of paramedics to save her.
Her family are receiving support from the police while the investigation continues.
We are not able to release her name at this time, and we ask that her family’s privacy is respected.
The driver of the tractor has been left badly shaken by the incident.
The Major Collision Investigation Team were examining the scene and the vehicles late into the evening. The road reopened at around 11.30pm.
They are appealing for witnesses to the collision and motorists with dash-cams who were in the area at the time, to come forward as soon as possible.
They also want to hear from people with any other information that could assist the investigation as they work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision.
