Police in York are appealing for witnesses after a man was punched to the ground in York city centre.
It happened on the junction of St Helens Square and Blake Street at around 3:30am on the morning of Sunday 15 May, when a man punched another man in the face, causing him to fall to the ground.
The injured man, aged in 20s was seen by police officers on nearby patrol who obtained medical assistance for the injured man. He was taken by ambulance to York District Hospital where he was treated and later discharged .
Officers are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident to get in touch.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and release while under investigation.
