2pm Thursday 19 May 2022 Update - The 25-year-old man who was arrested has been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
The man attended magistrates court this morning (Thursday 19 May 2022) and was remanded in custody until he appears at Crown Court.
Police would like to thank the members of the public that came forward with information that assisted their enquiry.

Shortly after 12.30am today (18 May 2022) police were called to Flaxley Road in Selby near the Balti House, after reports a woman had been attacked with a knife.
The woman was assisted by two members of the public in the area before emergency services arrived and we are appealing for them to come forward as key witnesses, as we believe they could have key information which will assist the investigation.
The woman was transported to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries and is in a stable condition.
A 25 year old Selby man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is in police custody.
