Officers are appealing for a cyclist to come forward who possibly witnessed a fatal motorbike collision in the Craven District.
The incident occurred on the top road from Colne to Carleton – known as Skipton Old Road - with the junction to Lothersdale at around 5.50pm on Tuesday 17 May 2022.
Please note, this is an earlier time than the 6.23pm that was initially reported.
It involved a silver Yamaha Thundercat motorbike and a black Ford Fiesta.
Sadly, the rider of the motorcycle, a 52-year-old man from Bacup, died at the scene.
The driver of the Fiesta, a now 19-year-old local man, was not injured and is continuing to help officers with their enquiries.
The road was closed for several hours while the emergency services worked at the scene. It re-opened at around 1.30am the following day.
As part of the ongoing investigation, officers are urging a man on a cycle to come forward who is believed to have been at the scene before the police arrived.
