A 21-year-old man has been charged with Section 18 Wounding Causing Grievous Bodily Harm with Intent.

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information following an altercation in Skipton town centre.
Police were contacted shortly after midnight (Friday 26 August 2022) to reports of an altercation between two men outside a pub on Keighley Road in Skipton.
On arrival officers found a 19-year-old man had sustained a serious injury to his stomach. He was taken to a local hospital where he currently remains in a serious condition.
A 21-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of assault. He currently remains in police custody.
A cordon was put in place on the corner of Keighley Road at the junction with Sackville Street to allow investigation work to take place, this has since been removed.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: “The investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident is underway.
“Several people were in the area at the time of the incident, and I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or events prior to it to come forward.”
