Police in Skipton are appealing for witnesses after a motorist received substantial facial injuries when he was attacked by another driver.
The incident happened at around 4.40pm on Friday 4 August when a red Kia car was travelling along Broughton Road towards the main A59 before turning left onto the A59.
Between this junction and the next turn off to the left, (to Carleton) there has been a collision between the red Kia and a silver Honda Civic.
There has then been an altercation between the two drivers, which resulted in the driver of the Kia sustaining substantial facial injuries that required hospital treatment.
The driver of the Silver Honda Civic, left the scene before police arrived.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, has any dashcam footage or saw either of the two vehicles prior to the incident, to get in touch.

A man aged in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the incident an released under investigation to allow for further enquiries to be carried out.
