We are very sorry to announce that the motorcyclist who was injured in a serious road traffic collision on the A65 at Gargrave on Friday 18 August, an 18-year-old man from the local area, has died.
Officers from the Major Collision Investigation Team continue to carry out their enquiries to establish the full circumstances around the collision and are reappealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident or captured dash cam footage to contact them.
The collision took place at 8.10am on Friday 18 August on the A65 south of Gargrave and involved the drivers of a blue Kia Rio and an orange Ford Ranger and the motorcyclist, who was riding a white Yamaha motorcycle with a black seat and fairings.
The drivers of the other two vehicles were uninjured and are assisting police with their enquiries. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

North Yorkshire Police is investigating a serious injury collision on the A65 south of Gargrave involving a motorcycle, a car and a pick-up truck.
It happened just before 8.10am on Friday (18 August 2023). The stretch of road remained closed with diversions in place until 2.20pm while the emergency services worked at the scene and to allow the vehicles to be safely recovered.
The man riding a white Yamaha motorcycle, which has a black seat and fairings, was heading towards Skipton when it happened.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital by ambulance. He is in a critical condition.
The collision also involved a blue Kia Rio car and an orange Ford Ranger pick-up truck that were heading towards Gargrave. Both drivers are uninjured and are assisting the police.
In support of the investigation, officers are asking people to come forward with any sightings of the white Yamaha motorcycle at around the time of the collision on Friday morning.
They also need to hear from witnesses to the collision itself and motorists with relevant dash-cam footage that could assist enquiries.
