The UK is working with local authorities in India to urgently establish the facts and provide support to those involved.
Police in Richmondshire have issued CCTV images of a suspicious van believed to contain suspects involved in the theft of a large amount of fuel from Tarmac’s Wensley Quarry near Redmire.
It happened between 3pm and 9pm last Saturday (12 August 2023).
Officers are urging people to come forward if they spotted a white Luton Enterprise van in the area at around the time of the burglary.
They are also urging motorists nearby to check for relevant dash-cam footage of the vehicle and those inside it.
