It happened on Gatherley road, A6055, between 12.40am and 1.15am this morning, Tuesday 16 January 2024, when a group of suspects forced entry to a vehicle compound.
Once inside, they took particularly high-powered performance vehicles and are understood to have driven towards the Darlington area and continued into Cumbria.
It is believed that the vehicles have been driven by the suspects displaying dealership plates over the numberplates.
The vehicles that have been stolen include the following:

• Black BMW 5 Series
• Black Mercedes Benz C Class
• Black Audi Q7
• Purple Mercedes Benz E Class
• Blue Ford Focus
The blue Ford Focus was found by officers abandoned and crashed at Barton Truckstop and has been recovered by police.
We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
In particular, we are appealing for any information relating to any vehicles seen driving in the area matching those stolen and displaying dealership plates or any CCTV or dash-cam footage that may have captured something.
We are also looking for information relating to the crashed blue Ford Focus which was found at Barton Truckstop.
