Appeal following incident of sheep worrying near Stokesley

**Warning - Upsetting image - but this is the reality of dog attacks**

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about a sheep worrying incidents near Stokesley.

It happened overnight on Tuesday 06 February in a field by River Leven near to the junction of the A172 and Thirsk Road.

We beleive that the sheep below was attacked by a dog. Following the incident, the sheep suffered a deep puncture wound and broken splintered neck bones and sadly it needed to be put down.

Police are now requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident. In particular officers are appealing for information about any person seen walking their dog in the field during this time.
