We received a report a 4.25am this morning from our colleagues at North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service that several vehicles were on fire at a rural location near Kilnsey, Skipton.
We attended and located a damaged flatbed lorry, a low loader, and a mini digger. The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
Our officers remain at the scene to forensically examine and recover the vehicles.
The road has also been damaged by fire and fuel spillage, and arrangements have been made to repair it.
We are appealing for anyone with information about the vehicles involved - for example, if you saw them prior to the fire, or you have any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage - to get in touch.
Please call North Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting reference 12240044679, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
