Update 13 June: Following a media appeal we are pleased to report that this vintage Raleigh Royal bicycle has now been located.
We’re appealing for information about the whereabouts of a 40-year-old Raleigh Royal bicycle that was stolen from York.
It was taken from the bike racks next to Shi Shang Chinese Restaurant, Fawcett Street, between 10am and 12.30pm on Wednesday (5 June).
The bike previously belonged to the owner's uncle and had sat in a dusty shed for 10 years before it was restored during lockdown.
Since being restored it has been used daily for getting around York.
We’re particularly appealing for information about the whereabouts of this bicycle or anybody who witnessed the bike having the lock broken and being taken.
Please email [email protected] if you have any information that could help our investigation.
Alternatively, you can call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for PC1371 Ruth Atkins or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their website.
