Update 7 Aug: This road has now reopened
We’re appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a serious collision on the A1036 Malton Road on the outskirts of York.
The incident happened at 8.10am this morning (Tuesday 6 August) and involved a vehicle transporter leaving the road and colliding with a tree.
The driver of the vehicle received serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
The road is currently closed in both directions from the Toby Carvery (Hopgrove Lane South) to the A1237 roundabout. It is likely to remain closed for a few hours whilst a complex recovery takes place.
We’re appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact us.
Please email [email protected] if you can help.
